Halloween Christmas: A Poem

We horror kids know how to celebrate
Mixing Christmas with Halloween
Skulls and crossbones on our cozy sweaters
They look festive; they're red and green

Our favorite holiday tradition
Is telling Christmas ghost stories
We don't hold back the scares
But we don't make them too gory

Without Nightmare Before Christmas
Our holiday season wouldn't be complete
We love Jack and Sally and Sandy Claws
And sing their songs when we carol down the street

We're not too concerned with St. Nick
Coming to bring us gifts
We're watching out for Krampus
Who'll punish us if we deserve it

All those plastic spiders
We hid in October to make you scream?
Well, we snuck a few into your stocking
To keep you from trying to peek

Oh, we've got the Christmas spirit
Inviting friends until the house is full
But we serve holiday punch at the party
From our favorite bowl, shaped like a skull

We didn't forget the skeleton in the corner
We strung some colored lights around his limbs
And gave him a Santa hat and a scarf
Now he's so jolly, just look at him!

The store was out of tinsel and garland
But we'll make do with this instead
That's right, we're decking the halls
With our leftover fake spiderwebs

We've outdone ourselves this year
With a Godzilla Christmas tree
He breathes smoke and his eyes glow red
It's a work of art, a real beauty

Christmas or Halloween?
It's hard to choose just one
So we combine the two
And have twice the fun
